National Masturbation Month Is Here Again!

Rub One Out – Some of you may be aware May is National Masturbation Month. For many on a site like this, it’s an everyday event we know, sometimes multiple, but we all must admit masturbation acceptance has come leaps and bounds in the past century and even in the past decades. Imagine in the Victorian Era, parents actually bound their children’s hands or put anti masturbation mittens on them to prevent them from touching themselves. Kellogg’s Corn Flakes and Graham Crackers were originally created as anti masturbation foods to dull the libido, odd but true.

It’s All Very Natural – It’s sad how many people tell me they feel guilty for masturbating when it’s as natural a thing to do as sneeze, sleep or have a drink of water. You wouldn’t feel guilty for doing any of those things, would you? Not likely. It’s funny how people can joke about someone passing gas or burping, yet masturbating, OMG, you’re going to hell, you filthy masturbator! It astounds that everyone isn’t encouraging it since it would cut down on the sexual frustrations of the young, lead to less sexual involvement with others if young people knew how to give themselves orgasms in a relaxed manner, would cut down on men growing up to be premature ejaculators since they didn’t grow up with the fear of being caught and so no need to hurry. The roots of many sexual dysfunctions are based in the worry of being caught masturbating, or hurrying up to prevent it.

Don’t Shame – in cases where someone is sadly caught that didn’t shut or lock a door, the best thing is just to turn around, shut the door, act as if nothing happened and never say a word about it. I’ve heard people say their parents either wouldn’t allow door locks, didn’t knock before walking in, or in extreme instances removed doors entirely for zero privacy. It’s unthinkable when people deserve and need privacy the most they would be robbed of this basic human dignity. For some people masturbation is their only outlet for sexual release, it’s important to not feel shame or shame others for a natural act.
