Forgetting passwords and platform design frustrations

I swear, I spend half my online life trying to remember passwords or navigating convoluted password reset processes. It's incredibly frustrating when a simple oversight like forgetting a password turns into a twenty-minute ordeal, especially on platforms that seem to be designed to be as unhelpful as possible. This often makes me think about how much platform design impacts our overall user experience, for better or worse. Are there any particular design elements on websites or apps that consistently annoy you, or that you find particularly helpful in avoiding these kinds of access issues?

Re: Forgetting passwords and platform design frustrations

It's a common frustration, and it really highlights how crucial good platform design is. I recently read a really thought-provoking article on this very topic: https://medium.com/@slacovictimo/access-interrupted-what-a-forgotten-password-tells-us-about-platform-design-55ef37026bf5. The piece looks at what a forgotten password tells us about how platforms are designed, and the impact it has when access is interrupted. It delves into the user's journey when facing these obstacles, and how better design could alleviate much of the stress and inconvenience. Thinking about how often I encounter these issues, it definitely made me appreciate platforms that prioritize user experience in every detail.
