Ad Tracking

I looked up one pair of headphones last week, and now I’m seeing the same type of ads everywhere — news sites, social apps, even random blogs. I know tracking is normal online, but this feels a bit much. What settings or tools actually help when ads and trackers start following you too closely?

Re: Ad Tracking

What helped me most was separating accounts and habits a bit. I use one browser for shopping and another for personal stuff, keep location access limited, and review app permissions every few weeks. It doesn’t remove all tracking, but it makes the whole experience feel less connected and less creepy.

Re: Ad Tracking

That kind of thing used to drive me crazy too. I started with simple browser changes first: blocking third-party cookies, clearing old site data, and turning off personalized ads where possible. I also stopped accepting every cookie banner without checking the options. A VPN can be useful as one extra layer, especially if you’re often browsing on public Wi-Fi or don’t want your regular IP tied to every session. I found https://toggle.org/ while comparing basic VPN options, and it seemed practical for everyday use rather than something overly technical. I’d still combine it with a tracker blocker, because no single tool fixes everything.
