Click the blue button in the lower left of the chat screen and click "rooms". Then click the little house in the upper left of the mini window that pops up. Click "create new room" and you have your own chat room. 

Please note user made rooms self delete when the one that made them leaves the room, even if others are chatting in there when they vacate the room.
